Management
of business and professional liabilities
by Jeremy Evans, Attorney and Bob Warren, Attorney
Foley Hoag LLP
IEEE Consultants Network Meeting -- Wednesday, 6:30 PM, November 12, 2008
At Foley-Hoag, 1000 Winter Street,
Independent
consultants frequently encounter liability-related concerns while preparing for
and engaging in professional activities.
The extent of those liabilities differs across industries and
professions, but in all cases can be significantly affected by a consultant’s
choice of business form and the availability and extent of professional liability
coverage. In this presentation,
attorneys who specialize in business organizations and insurance coverage will
address business and professional liability concerns from the perspective of
both independent consultants and those who employ them. If you have ever wondered how to analyze the
scope of your potential liabilities, determine the type of organization you
should form and the scope of insurance coverage you need, or respond in event
of an actual liability or claim, this seminar is for you!
Presenters:
Jeremy
Evans, Attorney, Foley Hoag LLP
Jeremy Evans represents insured
businesses, institutions, and individuals in litigation to obtain coverage
under various lines of property and casualty insurance, including general and
umbrella liability insurance and directors and officers insurance. Among his

of products as varied as medical devices and valves. On their behalf Jeremy has
litigated to obtain reimbursement of defense and indemnity costs, including in
such complex and contentious areas as asbestos litigation and environmental
liability. Jeremy has also represented policyholders in pursuing recovery from
insurance brokers due to broker malpractice.
Jeremy also represents clients in
general commercial disputes, litigation involving accountant professional
liability, securities class action litigation, and litigation over improper
